The Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1959 by the realization of the need for fire, rescue medical services. A group of dedicated citizens became our founding members, deciding it was time to create a volunteer fire EMS company raised the funds to purchase the first fire truck, ambulance & building by mortgaging off their homes. We currently consist of four divisions: Fire, EMS, Fire Police, Ladies Auxiliary. The fire company, ladies auxiliary, fire police are operated by volunteers, covering the 25.3 square mile rural township its population of approximately 9,000 residents. We provide structure, vehicle, wildfire suppression, search rescue, rough terrain motor vehicle rescue, basic advanced life support. The fire company, including fire/rescue EMS, also provide mutual aid services to surrounding communities when requested.
