Volunteer Street Team Member
Position Summary
Volunteer Street Team Members serve as ambassadors for Lehigh Valley Public Media by representing LVPM at community events throughout the region. Whether at festivals, fairs, farmers markets, concerts, or partner events, Street Team volunteers help introduce people to LVPM’s mission, programs, and services while creating welcoming, engaging experiences for community members of all ages.
Street Team volunteers are enthusiastic, outgoing individuals who enjoy meeting new people and helping build meaningful connections between LVPM and the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage visitors at the LVPM booth or activity space
- Share information about LVPM television, education initiatives, events, and community programs
- Answer basic questions about the organization
- Encourage newsletter sign-ups, event registrations, or membership interest
- Assist with interactive activities, games, crafts, or giveaways
- Help distribute promotional materials
- Assist with booth setup and breakdown
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting event space
- Direct attendees to event activities or resources as needed
- Represent LVPM with professionalism, enthusiasm, and excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable talking with people
- Able to operate an iPad
- Passionate about community engagement
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to learn basic information about LVPM and its programs
- At least 16 years old (or accompanied by a parent/guardian if younger)
- No previous volunteer experience is required.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk for several hours
- Lift or carry up to 25 pounds (optional assistance available)
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Set up tables, tents, displays, or promotional materials
- Reasonable accommodations can be made whenever possible.
Time Commitment
- Flexible scheduling based on volunteer availability
- Typical shifts range from 2 to 4 hours
- Weekend and evening opportunities are common
- Volunteers may sign up for individual events throughout the year

- Customer service and community engagement guidance
- Booth setup and activity instructions (as needed)
