Volunteer Coordinator
Great opportunity for someone with HR, nonprofit, event planning, or team leadership experience.
The Museum of Indian Culture is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, organize, and support a growing network of dedicated volunteers. This role is essential to ensuring smooth operations for events, programs, and daily activities.
What You’ll Do
- Recruit and onboard new volunteers
- Coordinate volunteer scheduling for events, programs, and projects
- Serve as the main point of contact for volunteer communication
- Help match volunteers to roles based on skills and interests
- Support training, guidance, and ongoing engagement of volunteers
- Maintain simple records of volunteer hours and participation
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Clear and friendly communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to coordinate schedules and manage multiple moving parts
- Comfortable working with a diverse group of volunteers
- Problem-solving midset and ability to adapt as needs change
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, or simple tracking tools and oline volunteer recruitment sites)
- Self-moticated and able to work independently.
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience in volunteeer coordination, HR, event planning, or team leadership.
- Exerience with nonprofit or community-based organizations.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 5–8 hours per week
- Flexible schedule (major coordination and time commitment around events as needed)
- Most of the administrative duties can be done remotely.

Volunteers are the heart of the museum. Your work will directly support programs, events, and initiatives that preserve and share Indigenous history and culture.
