Volunteer Food Pantry Inventory Coordinator - Friday

Schedule: Every other Friday morning (delivery days)
Role Overview
The Volunteer Food Pantry Inventory Coordinator (Friday Mornings) focuses on receiving and processing large food deliveries to support the Wilson Area LINCS Food Pantry’s operations. This volunteer plays a key role in inventory control, warehouse organization, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and assist with Second Harvest food deliveries
- Unload pallets and cases of food using a manual pallet jack
- Sort, inspect, and rotate inventory for freshness and safety
- Organize warehouse and storage areas for efficient access
- Stock shelves, refrigerators, and freezers
- Assess inventory levels prior to biweekly food orders
- Maintain cleanliness by breaking down cardboard and disposing of garbage
Physical & Skill Requirements (Required)
- Ability to lift and carry 40–45 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to safely operate a manual pallet jack
- Stand and remain active for up to 3 hours
- Read small print on labels and follow safety and handling procedures
