Luis A. Ramos Reality Fair Volunteers
The Ramos Elementary School Reality Fair is a career education event that highlights the importance of financial literacy skills. Prior to the Reality Fair, students participate in a financial literacy lesson in their classrooms which is joingly taught by the school counselor and classroom teachers. Students have selected a career and have a monthly budget based on the national average salary for that career. For the event, students visit different stations to make lifestyle choices and see their impact on their bank accounts. There are also a few stations where a game of chance is played to see if they have to pay an unexpected bill, or come by unexpected money/income.
Volunteers are needed to assist the students 9 stations, with 2-3 volunteers at each station. We are looking for a 18 volunteers for about 4.5 hour commitment.
