PPL Project - Painting Project in Wilkes Barre

Valley Youth House’s Independent Living Program in Wilkes-Barre provides critical support and stable housing to youth transitioning out of foster care or experiencing homelessness. To ensure that these young people have not only a safe space but also a welcoming and uplifting environment, we're organizing a hands-on volunteer project focused on painting and refreshing one of our housing sites.

This one-day volunteer event will focus on painting common areas, hallways, and bedrooms at one of our Independent Living facilities. Volunteers will help transform the space into a brighter, more positive environment that feels like home for the young people who live there.

Wear clothes suitable for painting and getting a little messy! All materials and supplies will be provided by Valley Youth House.

Why It Matters:
A fresh coat of paint may seem small, but it goes a long way in creating a space that feels safe, cared for, and dignified. For youth working hard to build their independence, a clean and comforting home environment is a powerful source of motivation and pride.
