Opportunity Details
The Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center is supporting the I Can Shine Bike Camp at Easton High School from July 16 - 20, 2018. The bike camp program teaches individuals with various disabilities how to ride a conventional 2 wheel bike and become a lifelong independent rider!
Volunteers are needed to be a "spotter" for the same rider for each of the 5 days. Spotters walk/jog/run along side a rider as they are learning to ride during a 75 minute session (with breaks) for each of the 5 days.
Volunteers need to attend a 45 minute orientation on July 15 at 4pm and then volunteer for only the session times they have been assigned.
Experience the thrill of giving the gift of riding a bike. The program requires over 100 volunteers. Go to http://icanshine.org/ican-bike-lehigh-valley-pa/ to sign up or email/call John Dietrick at iCanShineLV@gmail.com or 484-544-8220.
NOTE: Signup is for the all 5 days of camp (16-20 July) at the specified time.
