Thank You Letters for Front Line Nonprofits in the Lehigh Valley (MLK 2021)
The Youth Volunteer Council of the Lehigh Valley invites you to participate in a campaign to thank front line workers for MLK Jr Day. When we think about front line workers we think about hospitals and emergency workers, but what about all of the nonprofits who are providing services throughout the pandemic? Due to COVID-19 many local nonprofits are working with more clients that are looking for resources than ever before. Nonprofits are at half the staff capacity due to safety guidelines and are trying to figure out how to provide services to the community socially distant. The employees are working overtime providing food and shelter to those struggling during the pandemic. Those nonprofit employees deserve thanks as well. So the Youth Volunteer Council has created a “Thank You” campaign for nonprofit front line workers. The nonprofit employees who are providing shelter and food when our community needs it the most.
Anyone can get involved in this “Thank You” initiative, it is a great virtual volunteering opportunity. MLK Jr Day of service is January 18th but this year we are spreading it out for a week of virtual opportunity. From now until January 22nd anyone can make or purchase thank you cards to send to local community serving nonprofits. We want to let the nonprofit employees know they are appreciated and seen.
