Share your Passion for History as a Historic Bethlehem Museum Instructor!

Bring history to life as a Volunteer Museum Instructor for school programs at Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites!

Museum Instructors support the mission of Historic Bethlehem and bring history to life for students who attend our school programs throughout the year. Volunteer Museum Instructors recieve training to facilitate hands-on learning activies for students at one of our historic sites, such as Burnside Plantation or the Colonial Industrial Quarter. Volunteer Museum Instructors are responsible for managing groups of up to 15 school students with a school chaperone to provide a safe and encouraging active learning experience for children of all ages. Programs take place on weekdays during school hours. Scheduling is flexible for volunteers.

Volunteers with previous K-12 teaching experience are preferred!

Desired Skills:

  • Possesses exceptional ability to relate to children and colleagues
  • High energy
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to three hours
  • Ability to wear period-appropriate attire during program
