Junior Volunteers Needed
We're looking for high school students 14 years and over to participate in our summertime Junior Volunteer Program! Earn community service hours while learning about responsibility, accountability, and time management in a busy, energetic environment. Students generally assist in one of three areas:
Resident Transport - Help residents get to physical/occupational therapy, beauty shop, and clinic appointments, all right here at Gracedale.
Activity Assistants - Help our Therapeutic Recreation staff transport resident to an activity, then help with the actual activity. Some of our more popular events are bingo games, special lunches, and card tournaments.
One to One Visits - Sit with residents while engaging in conversation, reading, assisting with letter writing, or anything else that may foster a relationship between residents and volunteers.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm, with a commitment of at least one day per week required. Orientation sessions are June 13th & 20th!
