Bus Driver with CDL License
Our residents LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being able to get out and enjoy a ride! On four various days of each month our neighborhoods (units) would each like to go on a road trip to an ice cream destination. A volunteer with a CDL license is needed to assist with getting residents loaded onto the bus, driving on a preplanned trip through the countryside, enjoying some ice cream with the residents, then returning to Phoebe by a different route. The ride day varies for different neighborhoods. The load/ride/unload time is 12:30pm - 4pm. The number of residents on the trip can consist of four wheelchairs (that will need to be secured to the bus floor) and up to eight in bus seats. Typically, two escorts will assist with the trip.
This individual would need to go through the volunteer application process, TB Risk Assessment, background check, and proof of initial COVID vaccinations. A CDL license with a medical card is required to drive our 16-seat capacity bus.
While you are volunteering, Phoebe provides you with a free meal (and you would get free ice cream on the trip!).
