Volunteer Drivers for the Retail Recovery Program
We are currently recruiting volunteers to assist our Retail Recovery program in retrieving food products from retail stores near the food bank. Among the variety of donations we receive from the community, one source we take advantage of is retail food that is edible and safe but would otherwise be thrown away. Many of these stores wish to provide us this food but are unable to directly deliver to Second Harvest Food Bank. We are seeking volunteers who can drive to these stores and pick up the food donation on a regular schedule. This volunteer position will report directly to the Retail Recovery Coordinator.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Be over the age of 18
- Possess a valid drivers license
- Have a vehicle capable of carrying up to 200lbs of food products
- Be able to life up to 50lbs
- Must be able to volunteer during business hours (open Monday-Friday)
