Spring Into Action — Join Us on Our Workforce Engagement Team
Every day, the Red Cross sees the heartbreak of people coping with more intense storms, heavier rainfall, higher temperatures, stronger hurricanes and more devastating wildfires. As more people rely on the Red Cross for help, the need for compassionate volunteers has never been greater. Help comfort and support people who are forced from their homes due to fires, storms and other emergencies, so they don’t have to face tough times alone.
Disaster Workforce Engagement Team
The Disaster Workforce Engagement Team is responsible for welcoming new volunteers and ensuring they have an excellent experience joining the Disaster Cycle Services department. This team provides relevant orientation information, ensures volunteers are successfully engaged with chosen activity and advocates for volunteer advancement into leadership roles.
Activities include:
- Recognition & Appreciation
- On-boarding and Placement
- Leadership Development
Qualifications
- Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs
- Excellent customer service skills on the phone, over email and in person
- Cultural sensitivity to diverse audiences
- Work well both individually and as a team
- Skilled in working with computers, phones, email and online databases.
- Relationship-building skills working collaboratively with staff partners, volunteers, and Chapter leadership.
- Understand the value of volunteers and provide support to ensure volunteers have a mutually rewarding experience
