No Child Left Behind Volunteer
For the past few years, Third Street Alliance has served as the host agency for the volunteer event, No Child Left Behind. The event was conceived by Stephen Flowers, a local hair salon owner. He organized local salons to provide free haircuts to kids before the start of school. Through an outpouring of support, community members came together to donate backpacks and school supplies as free giveaways to students. The popularity of the program has taken off to the point that we’ve had more than 500 kids participate.

Volunteer Opportunities:
- Sunday, August 21, 12:00PM - 4:00PM - We need 50 volunteers to help with: setup, breakdown, hand out water, crowd control, greeters/hall monitors, family activities (face painting, games, music), etc.
We need volunteers for the following activities: collecting backpack and school supply donations, picking up and transporting donations, helping with social media outreach, and volunteering on the day of the event. We welcome any level of participation.
