I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for ICE CREAM!
Do you love ice cream as much as our residents do?? If so, Phoebe Allentown has an opportunity for you!
We have an ice cream cart – complete with bells – filled with specialty ice creams. We have senior residents who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the ice cream cart. And, we have the ice cream SCOOP.
BUT, we are missing a second volunteer to SCOOP the ice cream! This volunteer would need to have a strong hand/wrist, spend a couple of hours on his/her feet, and bend over to SCOOP ice cream out of the cart. This volunteer would share the duties with our current volunteer working together as a team. The SCOOP, as we refer to this special ice cream social time, takes place every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Each Tuesday the volunteer would visit one of our six neighborhoods (otherwise known as units), SCOOPing ice cream for the residents.
This individual would need to go through the volunteer application process, including TB Risk Assessment, background check, and proof of initial COVID vaccinations.
While you are volunteering, Phoebe provides you with a free meal. You can also enjoy a SCOOP of ice cream on the house!
