Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts Tour Guide
Tour guides at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts lead guests through the museum while presenting a lively and educational narrative about the changing styles of the decorative arts over more than three centuries. Tour guides answer visitor questions and help guests to step back in time as they learn about the antiques, textiles, and other decorative artworks of days gone by.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading guests throughout the complex
- Educate visitors about the exhibits, gardens, and Annie Kemerer
- Encourage and ensure respectful treatment of building, artifacts, and gardens
Volunteers will report to the Site Coordinator of the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts.
Volunteers must be able to commit to two (2-4 hour) shifts per month for a minimum of six months.
Candidates must be able to learn tour script from memory, have a pleasant and welcoming demeanour, and be able to walk and/or stand for at lease one hour.
Training and a script for the position will be provided.
The Site Coordinator of the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts will be available for questions and assistance.
