Moravian Museum Tour Guide
Tour guides at the Moravian Museum lead guests through the museum while presenting a lively and educational narrative about early Moravian culture and history. Tour guides answer viswitor questions and help guests to step back in time as they learn about one of the oldest buildings in the Lehigh Valley.
Key responsibilities in the role include:
- Leading guests throughout the complex
- Educating visitors about the Moravian settlers and their way of life
- Encouraging and ensuring the respectful treatment of building and exhibits
Volunteers in the role report to the Site Coordinator of the Moravian Museum.
Volunteers must commit to at least two shifts of 2-4hours each per month, with a long term commitment of at least six months.
Candidates must be able to learn the tour script by memory, have a pleasant and welcoming demeanour, and be able to walk and/or stand for at least one hour.
Training and a script for this position will be provided. Also, the Site Coordinator of the Moravian Museum will be available for questions and assistance.
