Gardening at Historic Home

NCHGS needs your help keeping its courtyard garden looking beautiful. This volunteer opportunity will take place at the Historic Mixsell Illick House located on Fourth and Ferry Streets in Historic Downtown Easton. This beautiful Federalist period house is on the National Register of Historic places and its courtyard garden needs care on a semi regular basis. This volunteer opportunity provides;

  • Independent work on a seasonal basis from April to October weather permitting. Once started feel free to stop by when you are in town or even on the weekends whenever you wish to exercise your green thumb. (Green thumbs are not a requirement but preferred!)
  • This work will include everything from weeding, watering, thinning plants, trimming shrubs, replanting, new planting and mulching when appropriate.
  • NCHGS will provide new plants, weed receptacles, garden hose and other garden products as needed but we do ask for you to bring your own tools such as gloves, shovels, etc.
