Opportunity Details
Every day, seven people in this country die from home fires. Sound the Alarm – Save a Life is part of a nationwide Red Cross initiative to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by home fires. Since the program began less than four years ago, it has saved over 380 lives!
On Saturday, April 28, the Red Cross volunteers will join with firefighters and community members at the East Side Fire Station in Allentown to go out in teams educating residents about home fire safety and installing free smoke alarms in homes without them. Volunteers gain first-hand experience in improving the lives of others by reducing the chances of home fire related deaths and injuries. No special skills or experience are necessary – all training is provided in the morning. We’ll also provide coffee and doughnuts in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. We’d love to have you join us!
