Habitat Management at Thomas Darling Preserve

Wildlands Conservancy is in need of volunteers to help with clearing unwanted vegetation at our Thomas Darling preserve in Blakeslee. This project will make way for other, native plant species to take root. These efforts are tied to our broader restoration project at this site, which will provide habitat for the Golden-Winged Warbler and Northern Flying Squirrel.
Volunteers should be prepared for strenuous physical activity. Long pants of thick material are needed because there are many thorny bushes in the area. Sunscreen, bug and tick repellant are recommended, as are sturdy work boots.  We’ll meet 9 am at the Wawa located at 296 PA-940, Blakeslee, PA 18610 and caravan to our worksite. Lunch will be provided.
