Adult Education Tutor - Classroom Aide
Help adult students to strengthen their literacy skills and improve their lives through education. Become a Volunteer Classroom Tutor!
Classroom Tutors support student learning by assisting classroom instructors in Adult Basic Education, GED® Test Preparation, or English as a Second Language classes. Program goals include strengthening students' basic education or English Language skills to support their successful transition to postsecondary education, credential programs, job training, and career-path employment opportunities.
Classroom Tutors will:

have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and have good reading, writing, and speaking skills in English. Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but not required.

Attend a Volunteer Tutor Orientation workshop, which includes a program overview, information about adult basic education, and volunteer opportunities in our program. Participants will also complete required volunteer tutor paperwork.
