Literacy Tutor - Classroom Aide
Help adult students to strengthen their literacy skills and improve their lives through education. Become a Volunteer Classroom Tutor!
Classroom Tutors directly support student learning by assisting instructors in Adult Basic Education, GED®, or English as a Second Language classrooms. Tutors help students to improve their math, language arts, or English language skills under the guidance of a professional adult literacy instructor.
Classroom Tutors will:
have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and have good reading, writing, and speaking skills in English
Attend a Volunteer Tutor Orientation workshop, which includes an overview of our program, information about the purpose and intent of adult basic education, and volunteer opportunities in our program. Participants will also complete required paperwork.
All volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Tutor Orientation before tutoring. The next Volunteer Tutor Orientation will be scheduled for summer 2018.
