Classroom Literacy Tutor
Help students to strengthen their literacy skills. Improve a student's life through education. Become a Classroom Literacy Tutor!
Classroom Literacy Tutors directly support student learning by assisting instructors in the classroom. Tutors help students to improve their basic math, reading, or English language skills under the guidance of a professional adult literacy instructor.
Classroom Literacy Tutors will:
- have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and have good reading, writing, and speaking skills in English
- Attend a Volunteer Tutor Orientation workshop, which includes an overview of our program, a discussion about adult literacy, and volunteer opportunities in our program. Participants will also complete required paperwork.
All volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Tutor Orientation before tutoring. The next Volunteer Tutor Orientation will be scheduled for spring or summer 2018.
