Support the D&L and Runners/Walkers
D&L’s biggest fundraiser, the D&L Heritage Half Marathon Run & Walk, will take place on Sunday, November 3rd along 13.1 miles of the gorgeous D&L Trail in Northampton and Lehigh counties. We are expecting a total of about 1,000 runners and walkers to participate.
The half marathon is possible thanks to the generosity, kindness, and enthusiasm of dozens of volunteers who staff water stops, the start and finish areas, and many places in between. They serve water and food, direct participants at road intersections and crossings, help present medals and awards, and cheer the participants throughout the course.
Many runners and walkers have said that the D&L Half volunteers are fabulous, and we wholeheartedly agree. In addition to the satisfaction of supporting the D&L and the thanks of the participants, volunteers receive a commemorative T-shirt, a delicious lunch on race day, and the opportunity to make the event memorable for everyone involved. And it is a lot of fun!
The course will start in Slatington at the Northern Lehigh High School and finish at Canal Street Park in Northampton. We will send you directions and more detailed information for the time slot(s) you select. Thanks in advance for volunteering to help. Many of our volunteers sign up year after year. You’ll see why on November 3rd.
