Food Pantry Volunteers

The Food Pantry at the Sixth Street Shelter serves the 25 families staying at the shelter and 200 families from the surrounding neighborhood. Pantry volunteers assist customers with food selections and keep track of the customers' information.
Volunteers are needed for restocking the shelves, assisting with bagging and occasionally bringing groceries to the parking lot. We have an established group of 8 wonderful volunteers who keep the pantry running smoothly every week. We are just looking for 1 or 2 additional "fill-in" volunteers to step in when needed.
You will be working to support an organization that not only provides shelter to families in need, but also actively works with residents to solve their problems and find a permanent solution for long term success.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and comfortable standing for periods of up to 3 hours. Spanish speaking is a plus.

The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available. Here are the next available dates and times.
