Habitat Lehigh Valley ReStore Latex Paint Recycling Event
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley!
COVID-19 Volunteer Safety Requirements: Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, we have implemented the following safety procedures to keep our staff and volunteers safe during this time. Masks are required on site at all times. We are requiring volunteers to bring their own face covering. You will be asked to leave the work site if you do not have one. Maintain social distancing. Current guidelines require individuals to remain 6 feet apart. Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer. Wash stations and hand sanitizer will be provided at every site. We encourage everyone to take a break and wash hands every hour. Bring your own water bottles, along with your own lunch bags and coolers. During this time, Habitat is requiring all volunteers to bring their own water bottles on site. We will not be providing communal coolers with ice at this time. When finished using hand tools, please wipe down with provided cleaners. *If you are unwell, please stay home. Anyone presenting with symptoms will be asked to leave the job site immediately.
SCOPE OF WORK: Paint Recycling Event - volunteers will remove paint donations from vehicles, open individual paint cans under supervision and determine if paint is acceptable/recyclable, return unacceptable items to vehicles.
** NO experience necessary
Work boots or closed toed shoes are required. NO flip-flops or open-toe shoes. Please dress in layers according to weather. Long hair should be tied up. Hanging ponytails or braids can be a safety hazard. All safety gear (with the exception of masks) and tools will be provided. Please make sure you have completed the online safety certification. Check your e-mail the morning of the event in case of changes or cancellations. Please remember to bring your own water and a bagged lunch.
